For Goethe B1 speaking, rehearse making suggestions, giving a short presentation and responding to questions. Some preparation can be done alone, but a script cannot reproduce a partner’s unexpected answer. The section below explains the official task structure and gives original practice examples. Lingeva provides independent preparation, not an official exam or a guaranteed result.

Which Goethe B1 speaking format does this cover?

Checked against the official adult model on 28 September 2026: speaking has three tasks, with a regular paired exam time of 15 minutes and a separate 15-minute preparation period. Check the current official instructions for your sitting and any approved accommodations.

Official tasks and suggested rehearsal
TaskTry aloneAdd a partner or teacher
1. Reach a plan together.Prepare a suggestion, a reason and an alternative.Respond to a competing proposal and agree on a decision.
2. Present a topic.Organise short notes and practise explaining your view.Check whether the talk is clear and easy to follow.
3. Discuss the presentations.Prepare possible questions and a brief response.React to an actual question about what you or your partner said.

The paired time is not an individual presentation allowance. Do not transfer this task map to telc, DTZ or another exam merely because the level says B1.

Original task: plan a book swap for your learning group

This is a new practice situation written for Lingeva, not an official question or a prediction of your exam topic. Your group wants to organise a small book swap. Agree on the place, time, invitation and what to do with books that remain.

Was meinst du?

Your partner cannot attend on Saturday. Respond to Friday and ask about the room.

Show one possible answer

The reply takes up the alternative instead of repeating the original suggestion. A different reasonable response is also possible.

Finish by agreeing who does what. For example: Ich frage nach dem Raum. Kannst du die Einladung schreiben? These lines model interaction; memorising them does not cover every possible partner response.

Build a presentation from notes, not a memorised essay

Practice topic: should language courses include small projects? Use the official presentation sequence: introduce the topic, bring in experience and a relevant home-country example, discuss advantages and disadvantages, give your view and close. Use your own truthful examples. The text below is a deliberately short illustration, not a complete timed exam performance.

The second paragraph explicitly uses a fictional group. The third is a reminder to supply your own genuine example, not a sentence to recite as if it described your country. Replace both before using this outline for your own talk. Write keywords rather than a full text for the next attempt.

Practise a question that was not in your notes

Respond with a practical suggestion and explain it briefly.

Show one possible answer

Ich würde zuerst fragen, welche Aufgabe jede Person übernehmen möchte. Kleine, klare Aufgaben könnten helfen, damit alle wissen, was sie tun sollen.

This is an original possible reply, not an official answer key. It responds to unequal participation rather than returning to the prepared opening.

Ask a question tied to something your partner actually presented. A generic memorised question may miss their point. If you did not understand a detail, request clarification politely.

Review the practice attempt without inventing an exam score

  • Task: did you carry out the requested speaking action?
  • Interaction: did you listen, respond and help reach a decision?
  • Meaning: were your examples and reasons understandable?
  • Language: choose a specific grammar or vocabulary point to improve.
  • Delivery: ask a listener where the message became difficult to follow.

This checklist is a practice aid, not Goethe’s official marking rubric. Use the official model materials for assessment criteria. An automated app estimate is not an examiner’s score, an admission decision or a certificate.

Where Lingeva fits into exam preparation

Exam Prep in Lingeva requires Premium, including Strategy Tests and mock exams. Available tasks depend on the selected provider and level. Use the app for additional practice and return to official provider materials to check the actual exam. This public written exercise requires no paid AI session.

Can I prepare without a partner at first?

You can organise notes, practise a presentation and rehearse useful responses alone. For an interaction task, also practise listening and responding to a person when possible.

Are these likely questions for my exam date?

No. The prompts are original practice examples, not leaked topics, predictions or official exam items.

Does finishing a mock exam guarantee a pass?

No. A practice result describes that attempt under its own conditions. It does not guarantee an official result.
